Sustainable observation tower

This project was conceived as part of a call for projects for the town of De Smet, to enable visitors to enjoy the landscape and wildlife, while protecting the animals that live there.
This tower is wrapped in a blanket of earth that transforms into a yellow field of sunflowers during the summer. I believe that sustainable architecture should not only perform well, but also promote sustainability in its form by being easily accessible to all.
The walk leads to a footbridge with observation points where birds can take shelter. These observation towers offer a complete view of Big Slough.
Most of the project is based on a compressed berm, reinforced by piles supporting a modular structure that can easily be built by volunteers.
